Affinity Hospice Charity Foundation is an IRS approved 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation established by Affinity Healthcare Services, Inc. in 2006.
Foundation Overview
Affinity Hospice Charity Foundation focuses its support on strengthening patient quality of life and the patient’s family support system and on improving the patient's response to social and emotional issues associated with their terminal illness, regardless of income or other entitlements.
The Foundation is operated by a board of directors made up of employees from Affinity Home Hospice Services. Employees serve in a volunteer capacity and are allowed to handle Foundation business on company time. This means that the Foundation is able to put substantially all of the donations it receives directly to work meeting the needs of Affinity patients since its administrative and overhead expenses are modest.
Needs may be reported by anyone. The board meets for discussion of requests on a frequent basis. It also has a process in place to ensure the rapid approval and dispersal of funds when situations require immediate response. Pearce, Bevill, Leesburg and Moore, P.C. of Birmingham, AL serves as the accounting firm for the Foundation.
