Support Affinity Home Hospice

It’s natural for most of us to want to make a difference. Maybe you’ve chosen a profession where you can make a contribution to society everyday, or maybe you give of yourself through your place of worship. Giving to hospice care is about people helping people. Whether you are compelled to give time, money, or both, you can make a profound difference in the lives of terminally ill patients and their loved ones.

Become a Hospice Volunteer

If you have a passion for caring for others, and if you’re looking for a way to make a difference in people’s lives, you should consider becoming a Hospice Volunteer. Our volunteers provide companionship and support to patients and their loved ones by reading with them, working on craft projects, helping with light gardening, providing relief when a caregiver needs a much needed break, participating in memorial services, or working in our office. These are just a few of the many ways you can serve others as an Affinity Hospice Volunteer.

Consider a Donation to the Affinity Hospice Charity Foundation

Please consider for a moment the families living in your communities who lack the resources to provide for their loved one’s basic needs. Those needing end-of-life care and basic necessities such as utilities and medicine may not have access to what they need due to lack of insurance and financial resources.

The Affinity Hospice Charity Foundation was formed after our hospice families approached us and asked how they could thank Affinity for the care provided to them and their loved ones. They had a sense of wanting to “give back” to an organization that had provided excellent care and concern for them at a difficult time in their lives. The family’s desire coupled with Affinity’s desire to fulfill the unmet needs of our patients and those in the community led to the formation of a non-profit 501(c)(3) Foundation which was established for the sole purpose of providing assistance to our needy patients, their families, and the community.

Affinity Hospice Charity Foundation funds shall be used for strengthening patient quality of life and the family support system; to improve the patient’s response to social & emotional issues associated with their terminal illness, regardless of income or other entitlements. The Affinity Hospice Charity Foundation provides assistance to hospice patients including maintaining the essentials of life such as food, shelter, utilities and basic comfort items. Through this foundation we are able to relieve patients of these burdens so they can concentrate on living their final moments in peace. This fund is solely comprised of donations from patients’ families and the community. The charity funds are managed by a voluntary Board of Directors that reviews each request for financial assistance and decides where fund allocation would be most beneficial.

The people we serve must have total confidence in our ability to fulfill our mission, “Your Care is our Passion,” with integrity. This is why we have adopted a set of ethical principles which guide our fundraising practices. We have adopted the Donor Bill of Rights, endorsed by the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP), which can be found on their website at www.afpnet.org/ethics. You can invest in the foundation with total confidence that your money will be allocated in the manner intended.
